Twisted Sketch Card No. 68 / Circle

Here is my take on http://www.twistedsketches.com/ Card No. 68 with a "twist" of circle.  I looked up cute sayings about circles and found this one...  which I liked.  I showed the card to my sister, however, and she didn't get it!  So, they saying could be an epic fail...  Oh well, I like it and that's all that matters!  Neener, neener, neener.

Also, I used a kit from http://www.littleredscrapbook.com/ featuring Sunshine Broadcast by Sassafras Lass.  This kit is awesome.  Love the colors, love the embellishments, love EVERYTHING about it!  Thanks so much for looking!

Twisted Sketch Card No. 66 / Blue

Check out this week's amazing sketch over at http://www.twistedsketches.org/. I am so proud to be designing for such a great sketch website!  I have had a blast...  This week's sketch has the twist of "blue" any how/any way.  So, I was really basic with this one and made a blue card.  How easy!  Also, I used my June Kit from www.littleredscrapbook.com featuring Sasafrass's Sunshine Broadcast Line.  One of my favorites, for sure!

Thanks so much for looking!  I have really enjoyed this creative journey!

Twisted Sketch Card No. 64 / Wood

Here is the second card I made for the Twisted Sketches Design Team!  Check it out at http://www.twistedsketches.com/  This week's twist is "Wood" any how / any way.  I had these great wood letters by Pink Paislee House of Three that I received in a Theme Kit from http://www.littleredscrapbook.com/. Thanks and enjoy!

Twisted Sketch Card No. 62 / Ribbon

Here is the very first card I made for the Twisted Sketches Design Team!  Check it out at http://www.twistedsketches.com/  This week's twist is "Ribbon" any how / any way.  Thanks and enjoy!

I used http://www.littleredscrapbook.com/ May Kit.  The flowers are from Prima, the jewels are from ZVA, the stamp is from Close to My Heart, the tag is from Maya Road.  I distressed the card using inks from Close to My Heart.  Thanks so much for looking.  This is a very simple card!  Check http://www.twistedsketches.com/ for the sketch and even greater ideas!

More Carousel Rides

Here's another page using the pictures I took of the girls riding the carousel.  Bored yet?  I'm not!  I haven't taken any great family outing pictures in a while, so I will probably be scrapping these ones for years to come...  I made this page as a challenge peice for Glitz Design Blog's May Challenge (http://glitzitnow.blogspot.com/).  Thanks so much for looking!

The goal was to show off your "clustering" skills.  I used a little bit of my whole Glitz Design stash that I have collected over the years.  The paper is from a http://www.scarletlime.com/ kit.  Sometimes I hang on to things waiting for just the right moment to use them.  I am very happy with how this page turned out.  Very vintage, fun and whimsical!

Grandma and Paige

My Mother was so wonderful to take my Paige to the Ogden Temple for Activity Days.  I couldn't go because I work full time.  One of the leaders took this great picture of the two of them!  I am entering it in the http://www.scarletlime.com/ May Challenge paying tribute to my Mother for all of the wonderful things she does for my kids...  Love you Mom!

I kind of mixed kits between http://www.littleredscrapbook.com/ March Kit and a kit from http://www.scarletlime.com/, but I can't remember which one!  LOL.  My absent-mindedness gets the best of me sometimes.  Occassionally I mix them up, and can't remember how to put them back together!  I used some stuff from my personal stash too.  Enjoy!

Carousel Rides

This is the first of many pages to come with pictures of the vintage European carousel.  I LOVED it!  It was so much fun to photograph, and even more fun to scrap!  I used Scarlet Lime's April Main Kit from http://www.scarletlime.com/.  It was perfect for these pictures!  I also used Sketch No. 236 from Pencil Lines at http://www.pencillines.com/.  Enjoy!

Thanks for Being So Sweet!

When my Grandpa Brown passed away a couple of weeks ago, there were a couple of sweet ladies that did some nice thinks for my kids.  One of them was from our Ward, and another one was one of their teachers.  I used http://www.twistedsketches.com/ Card Sketch No. 58, however, this time I didn't add the twist of "laugh".  I needed to make cards thanking them for their sweet gestures of kindness during their time of need.  The alphabet stickers are from Echo Park Paper's "Little Girl" Line and the ice cream stickers are from Jolee's by You.  Thanks so much for looking!

Silent Auction Vintage Books!

My local Library hosted a silent auction during the month of April for some old vintage books.  I participated, as I've been wanting some old books to break down and reuse on my scapbook pages and cards.  I won three out of the four I bid on!  The one I didn't get was my absolute favorite, which was kind of a bummer, but one of the books was printed in 1868 and is in fairly decent condition!  I don't think I will end up doing anything with that one because I will probably feel guilty.  The other two will be perfect though!  I paid $15.00 for all three.  May not be the best deal, but I will get my moneys worth out of them!

Easter Weekend 2011 at The Homestead Resort

I took the girls up to The Homestead Resort in Midway, Utah for Easter Weekend.  It was a blast.  We had so much fun!  We dyed Easter Eggs, rode the European Carousel, participated in the Easter Egg Hunt and had a great time with just the four of us.  The European Carousel has easily become one of my favorite things.

We had lots and lots of fun.  We took a drive around Deer Creek Reservoir, ate italian food at a local restaurant, rented Country Strong, which by the way was a great movie.  I have to say it was a pretty enjoyable mini vacation.  We will be doing this again next year!  Here comes a Weaver family tradition.

Twisted Sketches Design Team Call Entry

I'm fairly new to this whole Blog thing, but I've been wanting to take my papercrafting to the next level, so I thought I would try out for a Design Team Call from Twisted Sketches. http://www.twistedsketches.com/  I love their website and check in on it often, because I get so much inspiration there!  So, when I read that they are hosting a Design Team Call, I was all about trying out!  So, here's my take on the sketch they provided:

My favorite thing about Twisted Sketches is that every sketch comes with it's own "twist".  This particular sketch's twist is "glue".  Any how, any way!  So, my first thought was the song "Stuck Like Glue" by Sugarland.  Every time I thought about the card I was going to create, that song would pop into my head and I couldn't get it out!  Uugghh...  So, that's what I decided to "stick" with!  LOL.

One of my other favorite things are kit clubs.  I belong to one called Little Red Scrapbook.  http://www.littleredscrapbook.com/  I used their April Main Kit for this card because it was so stinking cute!  April's Main Kit features products from Fancy Pants Designs "it's the little things" collection.  The ribbon and the button are out of my own personal stash, and so were the products I used to distress the card.  My personal favorites distressing tools are Close to My Heart's Distressing Inks, Ink Daubers and Distressing Tool.  They are priced right, and I really get my money out of them!  Thanks so much for looking!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

I have to show off the CUTEST card idea.  I "lifted" this idea from a gal at http://www.scrapbook.com/.  I fell in love the moment I saw it.  I made this one for a gentleman at my work that plays the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause for our office every year.  I was really kind of sad to give this one away!  People should feel very lucky to receive a card from me.  I tend to hang onto them because they are almost too cute to give away.  LOL.

I used Little Red Scrapbook's March 2011 Kit which features Echo Park's "For the Record" Line.  One of my very favorites!  I love Little Red Scrapbook.  I have been a subscriber for a little over one year.  Their kits keep getting better and better.  And, they are so affordable too!  The jewels, however, are from my personal stash.

We Be Jamming!

One of my very favorite things is to bottle, and I love, love, love Bountiful Baskets (http://www.bountifulbaskets.org/).  Mix the two together, and voila!  I spent this morning bottling homemade Blueberry Jam.

I do have to admit, blueberries really are not my favorite, but these batches turned out awesome!  This will perfectly complement the Honey Whole Wheat Rolls I'm making for tonight's Sunday dinner.  Super yummy!

I purchased twelve 1/2 pint cartons of blueberries, which made two batches, totalling twelve 1/2 pint jars of jam.  It turned out perfectly!  I use Sure-Jell Premium Fruit Pectin for a nice set.  The recipe couldn't be more simple.  4 C. Crushed Blueberries, 4 C. Granulated White Sugar, 1 box pectin.  Read the directions included with the pectin from preparing the fruit to processing.  Then, enjoy the "fruits" of your labors!  I know I will.
